Ali and Kyle, a couple from Canada, recently tied the knot at Convento Sao Paulo in Portugal. They had been dating for six years and had bought a house together before Kyle proposed on Family Day with their favorite food nearby. Ali quickly said yes, and they celebrated with family over FaceTime.
Their love story is simple but wholesome. Despite living an hour apart when they first met, they made time for each other by attending each other’s sports games and exploring Toronto together. Eventually, Ali moved to Toronto to be closer to Kyle, and they fell in love quickly.
They later decided to move to Kitchener, where both their families already lived, and it was Kyle’s idea to have their wedding in Portugal. They contacted Kyle’s cousin Paula for recommendations, and she helped plan the perfect day. The venue was stunning, and the food options were difficult to choose from.

On their wedding day, everything went smoothly thanks to their amazing vendors and family who made it special. Everyone had traveled overseas to be there at Hotel Convento Sao Paulo, and the speeches made by loved ones touched their hearts. They couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.

“Our wedding day was perfect. It’s hard to believe that you do all of this planning but on the day of, you don’t really have to worry about anything. This was due to the amazing vendors and family who helped make the day go so smoothly. Our adrenaline was pumping the whole day and it felt like a blur. It went by so quickly. We didn’t really realize it all happened until a few days later when we were having dinner in Spain and reminiscing. We just had SO MUCH FUN.”

Hotel Convento Sao Paulo
Hotel Convento Sao Paulo is one of my favorite wedding venues in Portugal. It has one of the largest private collections of tiles in the country and the surrounding area, Serra d’Ossa, is worth a visit. Aldeia da Serra and Redondo are nearby towns with stunning views and delicious local cuisine.
