People often say there is a pre-pandemic life and a post-pandemic life. Luísa and António’s wedding at Land Vineyards happened before everything changed. Today it almost feels like another era, but at the time it was simply the beginning of a new chapter for the two of them.
António is Brazilian but grew up in Portugal. His connection to the country had always been present. When he returned to Brazil and met Luísa, their story quickly began to take shape. It did not take long for them to realise they wanted to take the next step together.
And when the time came to plan the wedding, there was one certainty: the wedding had to take place in Portugal.

It did not take long for them to fall in love with the relaxed rhythm and hospitality of the Alentejo.
The Alentejo has something very distinctive: wide landscapes, soft light in the late afternoon and a sense of calm that can be felt in every detail. For a wedding with guests coming from different parts of the world, it was the perfect setting to bring everyone together for a few days.
In addition, many guests would be travelling from Brazil, so logistics were also an important consideration.
And that is how they decided to celebrate their wedding
at Land Vineyards — they quickly realised it made perfect sense.

Land Vineyards in Alentejo
A wedding at Land Vineyards brings together two elements that rarely appear so naturally side by side — the soul of Alentejo, deeply connected to the landscape and tradition, and modern architecture integrated into its surroundings.
Accessibility was another important factor. For guests arriving by plane, especially on long flights from Brazil, the relative proximity to Lisbon makes the journey much easier.
For the guests, it meant arriving in Portugal and quickly settling into the relaxed rhythm of the Alentejo.

A meeting between Portugal and Brazil
Weddings with guests from different countries always have a special energy. In Luísa and António’s case, there was a natural blend between Portugal and Brazil — in the conversations, the embraces and the way everyone celebrated.
It was easy to notice that many guests were discovering the Alentejo for the first time. Between conversations in the garden, glasses of wine and family reunions, the atmosphere grew in a very spontaneous way.
These are exactly the kinds of moments that documentary photography seeks to capture: recording what happens naturally, without interference.

Why have a wedding at Land Vineyards?
Choosing a wedding at Land Vineyards means choosing a very distinctive setting in the heart of the Alentejo, where contemporary architecture blends naturally with the landscape of vineyards and rolling hills. Located near Montemor-o-Novo and about an hour from Lisbon, the venue combines tranquillity, nature and an intimate atmosphere that is difficult to find elsewhere. The resort was designed as a retreat connected to wine culture, surrounded by organic vineyards and with views of the region’s medieval castle, creating a very special setting for a wedding celebration. The venue also allows couples to organise outdoor ceremonies among the vineyards and host guests who can stay at the hotel itself, turning the wedding into a complete and relaxed experience over several days.

Portugal as a wedding destination
Stories like Luísa and António’s clearly show why Portugal has become such a sought-after destination for weddings.
For couples who live abroad — or who simply want a special place to gather family and friends — Portugal offers pleasant weather for most of the year, a wide variety of landscapes and gastronomy that easily delights international guests.
In Luísa and António’s case, the Alentejo became the ideal setting to bring together two families and two cultures.
