Irish Wedding in Costa da Caparica | Lisa & Luke

One of the reasons I enjoy being a wedding photographer so much is the people I meet along the way. Many couples eventually become friends, which makes each story even more meaningful. That was also the case with this wedding in Costa da Caparica.

There are certain types of weddings that excite me the most: intimate weddings, beach ceremonies, destination weddings and late-afternoon celebrations. It is rare for all these elements to come together at once, but Lisa and Luke’s wedding in Costa da Caparica combined several of them, creating a relaxed day filled with great energy and the kind of celebration you wish you could experience again and again.

Wedding at Costa da Caparica

The bride got ready in a beach house right on the dunes of Costa da Caparica. It was the most charming beach house I have ever seen, located just beside the small train line that runs along the beaches of the coast.

The Casablanca beach bar is also close to the train line, so the bride and her closest family travelled there by train. It was the only bride I have ever had arriving directly to her ceremony by train.

When it was a wedding on the beach, we couldn’t help but take a walk by the sea soon after. The wedding was late and the sun was already low. There were few people on the beach and i knew very well walking the sand that end of the day.

After the cake cutting, while there was still some light left in the sky, night slowly took over. The entire beach was soon immersed in darkness, except for that small point of light coming from the Casablanca beach bar. At a wedding in Costa da Caparica, with no houses nearby, there are no concerns about noise and the celebration can continue well into the night.

The live music, the hot air of a summer night, that island of light in the darkness of the beach… everything contributed to a memorable party that summer of 2018!
