Hi, I'm Lourenço! I have a background in engineering, which probably explains why I spent years ignoring what I actually wanted to do. I worked abroad, travelled extensively, and kept a camera close at all times — not professionally, just because I couldn't help it.
Eventually, I stopped pretending it was just a hobby. I came back to Portugal, started the business, and never looked back.
That was twelve years ago. What began as wedding photography has grown into something larger than I could have planned: two photography brands, a video production operation, corporate clients across Europe, and a small team of people I genuinely trust and enjoy working with. But the weddings remain the core. They are where this started and where I am most at home.
My documentary work has been recognised internationally by This is Reportage — the leading platform dedicated to documentary wedding photography worldwide. In 2024 I was ranked 35th in the Top 100 Photographers globally, 11th in the Top 25 Storytellers, and 4th in Portugal. These are not numbers I lead with to impress anyone. I mention them because they reflect something I care about deeply: doing this work at the highest possible level, every single time.
Outside of photography, I am married, a father, and someone who still gets genuinely excited to go to the studio in the morning. I ride motorcycles, draw, read more photography books than is probably reasonable, and try to visit a new country every year. Travel is non-negotiable — it keeps the eye curious.

ABOUT THE BRAND
Lourenço Wedding Photography was born twelve years ago as a one-person operation with a simple but stubborn belief: the best wedding photographs are the ones that actually happened.
No posed smiles on command. No manufactured moments. Just the real thing — the nervous laugh before the ceremony, the grandmother wiping her eyes in the back row, the first dance when no one is watching anymore.
Over the years, and one wedding at a time, that vision attracted people who shared it. Today, Lourenço Wedding Photography is a small, close-knit team of photographers and videographers, all working from the same documentary foundation.
Every person who shoots under this name has spent years photographing alongside Lourenço, learning not just a technique but a way of seeing. We know each other's instincts. We trust each other's eye. That trust is what makes it possible to put the whole team on a wedding and still deliver work that feels consistent, intentional, and personal.
We are based in the Lisbon area and work across Portugal and internationally. Documentary wedding photography is not a style — it is a commitment to telling the truth about your day, in photographs that will still mean something thirty years from now
